Pinellas County, Florida -- Pinellas County Office of Consumer Protection is participating in International Fraud Awareness Week through Saturday, Nov. 9, as an official supporter to promote anti-fraud awareness and education.

“While prevention and detection is a year-round endeavor, International Fraud Awareness Week shines a spotlight on fraud and supporters of the campaign demonstrate their understanding that spreading awareness is key in combating the global fraud threat,” said James D. Ratley, president and CEO of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.

College scholarships available to Pinellas County students

Pinellas County, Florida -- The Pinellas Education Foundation has opened the application process for more than 150 scholarships that it distributes to Pinellas County School seniors each year.

An essay on the topic the "Greatest Challenge I have faced or expect to face," is required. There are over 30 scholarships available. 

The application deadline is 5 p.m. on January 13, 2014.
