Palm Harbor, Florida -- The Animal and Bird Medical Center of Palm Harbor is extending animal dental care month through the end of October. 

They are offering a 10 percent discount on all pet dental services scheduled during the month. Veterinarian Dr. Joel Murphy is hoping to remind pet owners that like your own teeth, it's important to have your pets teeth checked out regularly.

St. Petersburg, Florida -- St. Petersburg shines the spotlight on its vibrant arts and cultural scene with a celebration of the arts featuring the annual ArtsAlive 2012 Free Museum Day on Saturday, Sept. 29. 

For this once-a-year event, admission is free to several museums* and cultural attractions in St. Petersburg - designated by American Style magazine as America's #1 Top Arts Destination for mid-size cities three years running -- 2010, 2011 and 2012.

Pinellas County Extension annual 4-H apple/pecan sale

The annual 4-H apple and pecan sale sponsored by the Pinellas County 4-H Association is now in full swing.  This sale is the main fundraiser for the 4-H Association.

Each year, the Pinellas County 4-H Association awards $6,000 in grants for 4-H camps and trips, 4-H Legislature, 4-H Congress and, most recently, college scholarships.

This year, the sale is featuring Yellow Delicious and Empire apples.  Both varieties are excellent for baking, cooking or just eating.

Pinellas Park, Florida -- The public is invited to join in the fun of Read-In with the Open Book Exchange at the Museum of Fine Arts in Saint Petersburg on Thursday, Sept. 20.

Join the MFA and Bluebird Books and they celebrate the first installation of this custom built kiosk that encourages the community to exchange literature. Leave an old favorite, or discover a new one with free books available.

The exchange will be set up near the north, Beach Drive entrance to the museum.

A cash bar will be available at this event that starts at 6 p.m.

Palm Harbor, Florida -- Tired of all the political ads? The election could actually help you relax or improve your golf game. The Innisbrook Resort in Palm Harbor has created some special rates and time frames to countdown down to the November election.

Starting Monday, Sept. 17, you can get a 50 percent savings and have 50 hours starting at 8 a.m. to book it since it will be 50 days until the election. At the 35-day countdown mark, Oct. 2, you can get 35 percent off for 35 hours and on Oct. 17, 20 percent off for 20 hours starting at 8 a.m.

Preschool Super Saver monthly discount offered at Highland Recreation

Largo, Florida -- Highland Recreation is offering parents of preschoolers a new way to save. With this program, preschoolers can explore four fun-filled programs each month for a discount.

Residents will save $8 a month while nonresidents can save $10. Programs include Little Snackers Club, Super Dough, Little Artist, and Pirates and Preschoolers Treasure Hunt.

Classes are held Thursdays from 10 until 11 a.m. at Highland Recreation Complex, 400 Highland Ave. The cost for Largo residents is $12 a month and $15 for nonresidents.
