Last day for free cat adoptions this Friday

Hernando County, Florida-- Hernando County Animal Services announces Friday as the final day to take advantage of free cat adoptions.

The current special offer allows residents to adopt a cat or kitten for free from Hernando County Animal Services in celebration of Adopt-A-Cat Month.

They say the only fee to take home an adorable pet is the $20 deposit, which will be processed for a refund after showing proof of sterilization and rabies vaccination.

The cats receive a feline 4-in-1 vaccination and deworming at Animal Services.

Oldsmar, Florida -- Because of the rain last week, not as many brides-to-be poured into the Goodwill location in Brandon for the Wedding Gala of 2012, which offers wedding gowns at a discount. Because of that, they've added a sale day at the Goodwill Superstore in Oldsmar.

Doors open at 6 a.m. on Saturday, June 23 at the Superstore, which is located at 3929 Tampa Road.

Seminole, Florida - You may have noticed, gas prices are edging lower. Yes, they are inching lower at a glacial pace, but they are on the move.

According to AAA, we're paying roughly the same price as April of 2011 prices. The national average for a gallon of regular gas sits at $3.88.

In Seminole, we're lower than the national average and lower than the state average of $3.88. The cheapest place to fill up: The Hess on Park and 104th, the Marathon on Park and 54th, and Cumberland Farms on Seminole and 54th are all selling for $3.73.

Seminole, Florida - If one thing is certain, gas prices continue to rise with a great sense of regularity. 

The national average as of Friday, April 6, hit $3.94 a gallon. That's 18 cents higher than last month.

 In many parts of the country the cost has topped that ugly $4 mark and that includes right here in the bay area. 

Some filling stations in Tampa are selling a gallon for as high as $4.03. 

Across the bay and here in Seminole, the price has yet to hit $4. You'll find prices below that national average.
