Sign up now for Gulfport's City-Wide Yard Sale

Gulfport, Florida -- The City of Gulfport is looking for residents to sign up for its City-Wide Yard Sale on Saturday, Nov. 3.

Residents can have their yard sale at their Gulfport residence and it's permit free.

St. Pete Beach -- The City of St. Pete Beach is hosting its next huge yard sale on Saturday, Sept. 22, from 8 a.m. to noon at the St. Pete Beach Community Center.

This large-scale event will take place in several different areas of the Community Center to provide shoppers with tons of treasures to browse through.

10' x 10' indoor and outdoor spaces are available for just $15 on a first-come basis.

Public meetings about utility rate hikes

Pinellas Park, Florida -- The public is invited to make their voices heard about proposed utilities rate increases in Pinellas Park.

The City Council will meet twice to discuss and decide to possibly approve raising the rates to cover the county's wholesale rate increase of 4 percent on water and 9 percent on sewer.

The first reading prior to public hearing will take place on Thursday, Sept. 13 at 7:30 p.m. A second public hearing and final reading will take place Thursday, Sept. 27 at 7:30 p.m.

Waste Pro to take over curbside recycling

St. Petersburg, Florida -- Waste Pro will be the new contracted collector of curbside recycling for the city starting Oct. 1. Those electing to have the pick up service will pay $3.75 a month, and that fee will be paid annually. 

If you previously had WSI service that was initially offered last year, you will have to call Waste Pro to set up service as it won't be automatically transferred.

Pinellas County passes ordinance making gas stations more accessible

Gas stations will soon provide greater accessibility to people with disabilities as a result of an ordinance passed Aug. 21 by the Pinellas County Board of County Commissioners.

Federal law currently requires gas stations with two or more employees on duty to render refueling assistance without charge to people with disabilities who honk or signal for assistance.  The ordinance approved by the board additionally requires that gas stations post signs containing a working telephone number for the station that those with disabilities can call for assistance.

Palm Harbor, Florida -- The North Pinellas Historical Museum is asking residents to bring your Yard Sale items to their Community Yard Sale on Saturday, Sept. 29.

A 12 sq. ft. space is going for $25 and you will need to bring your own table and chairs. 

Space is reserved with payment to Palm Harbor Historical Society. RSVP to Terry at 727-786-2837.

The yard sale will be held from 8 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Hulk Hogan opens beach retail shop

Hulk Hogan opens beach retail shop

Clearwater Beach, Florida -- Hulk Hogan has opened a retail store in the Pelican Walk.

The store had a soft opening over the weekend, and is still in the process of stocking its shelves with T-shirts, books, costumes and other merchandise promoting the world famous wrestler and north beach resident.

The merchandise will also be offered on the store's website, which plans to be up and running in about two weeks.
