PETERSBURG, Florida -- The Tampa Bay Rowdies announced Wednesday, Feb. 26 that Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa, one of America’s largest and most successful casinos, has entered into an exclusive agreement to become the jersey-front sponsor of the club during the 2014 season and postseason. Unlike other pro sports, it is customary for soccer clubs to feature a sponsor on the front of player jerseys.

Largo, Florida - Register your kids for Highland Recreation's Instructional Soccer Program where they will learn the skills of soccer through instruction and games.

This instructional program includes 30 minutes instruction followed by 45 minutes of game time. Registration starts February 1 and evaluations will be held on March 1 at Highland Recreation Complex. Games begin March 22. A Largo Recreation card is not required for this program.

Largo, Florida - Join us, February 8 at 9am at the Largo Nature Preserve, 150 Highland Ave SE, to test your stamina and skill in Largo's second annual Play! Dirty Adventure Run.

This event is a 3 mile race that takes you through Largo Central Park Nature Preserve on off-road terrain and through over 20 obstacles. This race includes a fun run category and a competitive category. Prizes will be awarded to the top five male and female finishers of the competitive category. New this year is a 3K kids run for children ages 11-17 at 11am.

Pinellas County, Florida -- As part of the Speaking of History lecture series, author and graphic designer Rick Kilby will present “Finding the Fountain of Youth: Ponce de Leon and Florida’s Magical Waters” on Sunday, Jan. 19. The lecture and book signing will be held at 2 p.m. in the Pinellas Room at Heritage Village.

Kilby’s book, published in 2013 by the University Press of Florida, describes how the search for treasures along Florida’s waters 500 years ago continues to remain part of the mystique of Florida.

Tarpon Springs, Florida -- Tens of thousands of people will converge on this traditional Greek fishing village on January 6 for the 108th Epiphany celebration.  Epiphany commemorates the baptism of Jesus Christ by John the Baptist.

Dozens of teenage boys will dive into the cold waters of Spring Bayou, hoping to retrieve a wooden cross tossed into the bayou and earn a year's worth of blessing.
