Cross Road's Farmer's Market on Sunday

Palm Harbor, Florida -- This Sunday come to the farmer's market on Sunday, August 18. 

The farmer's market at Palm Harbor is an open market featureing local poduce, baked goods, cheeses, live music and much more. 

The market is located at Pop Stansell Park at 797 Florida Avenue on the corner of 8th and Florida Avenue. 

Vendor fees support the North Pinellas Historical Museum.

No fishing at Pier 60 Saturday morning

Clearwater Beach, Florida -- Pier 60 will be closed to anglers Saturday morning for a cleanup of fishing lines and other material harmful to birds and marine life, the city has announced.

Reef Monitoring, Inc. will be removing fishing line, ropes, ghost traps, and tackle equipment such as fish hooks, sinkers, lures, etc. that create an entanglement for and endanger birds and marine life. The pier will be closed to anglers from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Largo, Florida - Members of the community are invited to join in the grand opening ceremony of Largo's new Bayhead Action Park on Saturday, August 17.

The ceremony, led by the City of Largo's Parks Division, will feature a ribbon cutting, skate and bike demonstrations, DJ music and giveaways sponsored by 688 Skateshop FLA, Dukka Skateshop, Westside Skateshop and Misiano Skatepark Construction.

Pinellas Park, Florida -- Saddle Up Riding Club is inviting the community to attend their Equine Assisted Activities and Therapies Volunteer Training Open House.

This special  event will take place on Saturday, August 17th beginning at 9 AM.

Volunteers can be age 14 and up, with students receiving credit towards Bright Futures hours.

There is a need for people to walk with and lead horses for each lesson, along with a need for assistance with office work, marketing, fundraising and other special projects.

Largo, Florida - Join the Highland Family Aquatic Center for an end-of-the-summer teen pool party! Make sure you see all the friends you've made through the summer one more time at this special Tidalwave Finale! 

Get in a water balloon fight, participate in outdoor water related games, and dance with the lifeguards all night long! There will also be an extra long swim session, amazing door prizes, and food available at Splash's Snack Bar.

It all takes place on August 13 from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Highland Family Aquatic Center, 400 Highland Ave.

Mandarin class for beginners at Dunedin Chinese Garden

Dunedin, Florida -- Learn how to speak Mandarin at the Dunedin Chinese Garden!

Classes only cost $2 plus entrance fees to te Garden. During the class, students will be able to learn basic phrases and helpful vocabulary to be able to connect with Chinese people and find out more about the intriguing culture and traditions of this diverse country. 

The classes will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the Tower Room. Classes begin on September 28 and Run to October 14.
