9th Annual Open Your Heart for UPARC Fashion Show

Palm Harbor, FL -- The 9th Annual "Open Your Heart for UPARC" Fashion Show and Luncheon is all set for Feb. 23 at the Inisbrook Resort in Palm Harbor.

The event is presented by Georgette's and The Shoe Salon along with some other sponsors will feature celebrity models and hosts. The fashions will come from Georgette's in South Tampa.

There will also be some unique boutique items for sale, a Chinese raffle with a variety of prizes and of course a 50/50 raffle.

Hello there fashionistas and facianados! For my first blog post I wanted to showcase some local talent we have here in the Bay area.  I chose to interview Max whom I have worked with several times.  So keep reading below to get to know him:

So tell me a little about yourself.

Well first off my name is Maximilian Rivera everyone calls me Max for short. Born and raised in the Bronx,NY I moved to Orlando then Ocala.  At age 17 I joined the Air Force (my mom had to sign the papers) and completed my 4 year tour. My job training consist of customer service jobs which was very eye opening and changed who I was. I'm currently 23 and working on my photography degree.

Wow! The Air Force at 17?  That is very noble of you!  What made you join?

TREASURE ISLAND, FL (May 31, 2011): Jeffrey Osborne, the legendary R&B trailblazer, will perform at The Club at Treasure Island on Friday, June 3 at 9:00 p.m.  A limited number of tickets will be available to nonmembers for $45, with a portion of proceeds benefiting All Children’s Hospital.  The official ticket hotline is 888.695.0888.

Jeffrey Osborne was the lead singer of the mega-band L.T.D., where he recorded 10 top-20 hits – including the chart-topping smashes “Love Ballad,” “(Every Time I Turn) Around Back in Love Again” and “Holding On (When Love Is Gone).”  Between 1974 and 1979, L.T.D. had two albums certified as Gold; another as Platinum.

After leaving L.T.D. to pursue a solo career in 1980, Osborne’s hot-streak continued: Five albums hit the top-10 on the R&B Charts, going Gold and Platinum.  He also wrote the lyrics to the Whitney Houston hit “All at Once” and joined Michael Jackson as a performer in “We Are the World” (the charity single that sold over 20 million copies).
