Pinellas Count, Florida -- In an effort to reduce DUI related injuries, deputies will conduct a sobriety checkpoint in Pinellas County.

Pipeline repair project begins Monday

Sand Key, Florida -- The city has scheduled repairs on a sewer pipeline prone to failure along Gulf Boulevard from the Shoppes at Sand Key to the Coast Guard Station.

Beginning Monday, October 7, workers will replace the existing sanitary sewer pipeline fittings and restrained joints and build a temporary above-ground bypass to provide uninterrupted sewer service during construction.

Traffic will be routed around the construction, and two way traffic will be maintained.  Some temporary lane closures will be required, the city said.

Tampa Bay Area, Florida-- The Florida Department of Transportation has announced the non-interstate lane closures for commuters to take into consideration next week.

They are as follows: 

Citrus County: 

  • Florida Avenue (US 41) between the Hernando/Citrus County Line and Rip Terrace: Repaving - Intermittent daily lane closures Monday – Friday between 7:00 am and 4:00 pm.

Hernando County:

Tampa Bay Area, Florida- The Florida Department of Transportation has announced non-interstate lane closures for drivers to keep in mind during their daily commute the week of September 29 - October 5, 2013. 

 

They listed below and are separated by county: 

Citrus County Florida:

Mandalay lane changes starting Monday

Mandalay lane changes starting Monday

Clearwater Beach, Florida - Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction on a section of Mandalay Avenue starting Monday.

Traffic from San Marco to Papaya will be shifted to the west into the parking spaces and down to one lane in each direction for storm improvement work at the west end of the city parking lot, the city said.

The lane shift will be in place for three weeks, through Oct. 4.

The city advises motorists should use caution and expect minor delays.

Pinellas County, Florida -- Belcher Road will be partially closed due to construction. 

From Wednesday, August 28 to Friday, September 6, the northbound lanes of Belcher Road from Bryan Dairy Road to East Bay Drive will be closed. The reason for the closure is due to milling and resurfacing of the road. 

Suggested detours are Keene Road, 66th Street North and US Highway 19 North.

USFSP students move in this weekend, expect traffic detours

St. Petersburg, FL -- A big weekend ahead for the more than 550 freshmen and returning students moving into the University of South Florida St. Petersburg residence halls for the start of the Fall 2013 semester. 

The first day of classes is Monday.

Both the Residence Hall One located at 500 2nd Street South and the Residential Tower at the University Student Center located at 200 6th Avenue South will be at capacity for the fall semester.
