Clearwater, Florida -- The city wants you to speak up about an anchoring and mooring pilot program.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is seeking input from cruising boaters, local boaters and residents in evaluating the effectiveness and fairness of the temporary ordinances and the pilot program.

The survey cakes about 5 to 10 minutes to complete, and ca n be accessed by visiting www.mydwc.com.

See Click Fix allows residents to report problems with pot holes, sidewalks, illegal dumping, mistimed traffic signals, graffiti, etc. with their smart phones or other mobile communications devices.

Pinellas County, Florida -- Numerous hiking opportunities continue at Weedon Island Preserve in July. Each Saturday beginning at 9 a.m., participants learn about the ecosystems and early residents of Weedon Island Preserve in these two-hour guided hikes. The hikes along the coastal uplands and along boardwalks through mangrove forests are best for ages 6 and older.

Gulfport’s Duck Underground Fears Prosecution

Gulfport, Florida --Apparently in response to recent press about duck activity at Gulfport’s Tomlinson Park, local duck sympathizers, fearing legal repercussions, have returned a raft of Pekin ducks to the pond.

Since the police responded to a June 6 call about a couple removing a duck from Tomlinson Park, the Pekin duck count went from one to seven at press time. The pond also has three “marbled” ducks (brown and white, also called Buffs).
