Courtney Campbell Park closed until further notice

Clearwater, Florida -- Due to high water, the City of Clearwater says Courtney Campbell Park on the Courtney Campbell Causeway will be closed until further notice.

Police officers who checked out the park Wednesday morning say they felt it was unsafe for visitors because of storm damage that includes portable bathrooms on their side, general wash out or beach erosion, impassable exit, debris strewn about, etc.

Oldsmar sandbag Stations, road closures

Oldsmar, Florida-- The City of Oldsmar announces two sandbagging stations open for Oldsmar residents:

  • Bicentennial Park, 423 Lafayette Blvd. North of Cypress
  • Forest Recreation Center located at 650 Pine Ave N.  

They say both locations have sandbags and shovels available, and will be open until the potential for flooding has passed. 

Over the next 24 hours the following streets may be closed intermittently due to potential flooding:

Hernando County, Florida-- Republic Services, Inc., has advised that it is temporarily suspending recyclable collection services for its Hernando County customers due to high water at the Landfill recycling facility. 

They say regular trash collection services will remain as scheduled subject to road accessibililty.

Tarpon community deals with TS Debby flooding

Tarpon Springs, Florida -- Tropical Storm Debby is soaking Florida and leaving a lot of flooding in its wake.

10 News viewer John Heagney shared video he shot outside his home in Tarpon Springs' Cypress Run community. The rain brought more than just floodwaters.  It also brought at least one fish that was left behind in a yard.

Madeira Beach, Florida-- The City of Madeira Beach announced the closing of the Recreation Center tomorrow, June 26, due to Tropical Storm Debby.  

The center is located at 200 Rex Place.

Update: Gulf Boulevard in Madeira Beach Is Reopened

 

Pinellas County, Florida-- Pinellas County Sheriff's Office has announced the re-opening of Gulf Blvd. in Madeira Beach.

Deputies closed Gulf Blvd. between 150th and 133rd Avenues earlier this evening as workers removed a roof hazard from one of the structures along Gulf Blvd.

Power was shut off for a little over an hour for safety purposes during that work period.

Citzens are still advised to stay in place and stay off the roads as much as possible during this storm incident.
