New driver hits wrong pedal, rams building

Clearwater, Florida - A newly licensed driver hit the gas instead of the brakes and rammed into an apartment building, police said.

The 27-year-old driver was not injured in the accident at 1767 S. Leo Lane.

Police said the driver was trying to move her car from a parking space when she hit the wrong pedal, sending the car lunging forward.

"She again tried to hit the brake harder and again hit the gas, causing her vehicle to jump the parking barrier and sending it through a wall," said public safety spokesperson Elizabeth Watts.

Man throws rock at Fire Rescue vehicle

Clearwater, Florida -- A homeless man was arrested Wednesday morning for throwing a rock at a Fire Rescue vehicle responding to an emergency call.

According the city, around 2:11 a.m., the vehicle was heading west on Gulf to Bay on its way to this morning's fire call on Tangerine Street when David Petrou stepped into the curb lane and threw what appeared to be a rock at the vehicle's windshield.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) - The owner of a St. Petersburg bar has apologized for refusing to serve free drinks to a transgender woman, who eventually left Bishop Tavern and Lounge after a heated dispute ensued.

Created in 1895, “The Scream” has become a modern icon of human anxiety. 
Munch’s depiction of a man holding his head and screaming under a streaked, blood red sky is instantly recognizable and relatable.

This is the only one, of the four versions, of "The Scream" still in private hands. It is predicted to sell for $80 million or more!

Man waves fake gun at motorists

Tampa, Fla. -- A Seminole man was arrested Saturday morning after motorists reported seeing him pointing a gun at them while driving over the Howard Franklin Bridge.

According to police, around 11:14 a.m., 19-year-old Michael Francis Schreiber was driving a burgundy 1994 Chevrolet pickup truck northbound on I-275 over the bridge with a long-barreled pistol. Some of the motorists followed Schreiber as he exited I-275 onto Fowler Avenue.

Police: Woman rams car in drive-thru lane

LARGO, Florida (AP) - Tampa Bay-area police say a woman angry about the time it was taking to get service in a fast-food restaurant's drive-thru lane rammed another car and then sped away.

Police tell the Tampa Bay Times that 24-year-old Jennifer Lynn Betterly became impatient while the driver in front of her ordered food from a Largo KFC/Taco Bell drive-thru.
