Pinellas County offers household hazardous waste collection

Pinellas County, Florida -- Got unwanted electronics or chemicals? Collect hazardous waste items from your home, office, or garage and properly dispose of them at the county's upcoming mobile collection event.

Drive up and drop off your household hazardous electronics and chemicals at Tarpon Springs High School (1411 Gulf Road) on Saturday, April 16, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Pinellas County Utilities offers local mobile collections free to county residents. Businesses should arrange for drop-off and payment by calling Creative Recycling at (813) 621-2319 for electronic waste, or EQ Florida at (813) 319-3400 for chemical waste.

Please keep in mind that mobile collections may be delayed or canceled due to severe weather.

Unwanted household electronics and chemicals should never be dumped in the regular trash, down drains or storm sewers, or on the ground. These products can be harmful to the environment and to the people handling them if they are not disposed of properly.

For more information on mobile collections, what to bring, what not to bring, or for information about the permanent Household Electronics & Chemical Collection Center (HEC3), visit Pinellas County Utilities online or contact Pinellas County Solid Waste Operations at (727) 464-7500.
