A look inside Fisherman's Paradise

Clearwater Beach, Florida - Billed as a floating palace, the much talked about 385-foot long Fisherman's Paradise will open next month.

Currently anchored 15 miles off the coast of Clearwater Beach in the Gulf of Mexico, the General Manager says visitors should expect to be impressed.

"When you walk through the door the atmosphere in here is top notch," said G.M. Ryan Nelson.

With room for up to 36 guests, the converted barge features 14 suites along with four VIP rooms and one deluxe stateroom. The bathrooms have granite counter tops and the furniture is definitely not your standard hotel fare.

When it's time to relax, there is a giant parlor with leather coaches and game tables.

The 900 bottle wine cellar is only a few feet away as is the case with the 12-seat movie theater. There's also a 2-story gym and an onboard spa.

Outside you will find a sun deck in addition to a fresh water pool that features a swim up bar.

"One of my favorite things is the ambiance of actually being on the water, we've got some of the best sunrises and sunsets and at night the starts are absolutely amazing out here because you don't have all the ambiance light of the city blocking out your vision of the sky at night," Nelson said.

Guests will have the chance to go on chartered fishing and diving trips that leave from the barge's own marina. When they return guests can even have their catch prepared and served in the Fisherman's Paradise restaurant.

Nelson says they are looking at requiring a 2-night stay and rates start at $500-person and that includes transportation to the barge plus food.

A soft opening is set for next month and Nelson says people interested in staying at Fisherman's Paradise should check the company's website for more details.
